Jeff Muir - Organiser and Sponsor
Jeff was born into a traditional cattle-droving family in the tall timbers country in the rugged South West of Western Australia, Jeff’s foundations were forged on the land—mustering, working remote stations, and since 1983, leading people on horse riding tours along the white sandy beaches and beautiful Karri Forrest.
A skilled horseman and bush mechanic, he was never far from a welder or a spanner.
Today, based on the Macquarie River in Bathurst, Jeff creates life-size kinetic steel sculptures of bouncing kangaroos and emus that capture the lively spirit and characters of the outback. He has launched the **Bathurst River Sculptures** art competition, developing a unique outdoor sculpture trail designed to become a distinctive new tourist attraction for the region.
A former leadership consultant, author and long-time rural tourism operator, Jeff brings the same hands-on creativity and community focus to this project that he and his wife Maggie have already applied in restoring their 1834 heritage home into Bathurst River House.
